There are two ways you can look at Leeds; through the eyes of a citizen or through the eyes of a tourist.
The citizen spends their time in Leeds surrounded by the people and places they know best; walking between destinations without taking their eyes from the pavements that take them there.
The tourist spends their time in Leeds with a camera angled close to the skyline, avoiding the confused stare of the citizen that struggles to understand the appeal of the old buildings they pass everyday.
New developments are what keep the citizen excited by Leeds, but when was the last time the citizen really looked at the buildings they thought they had seen a thousand times before? When was the last time the citizen noticed all the small details that give life to the city? When was the last time the citizen felt like a tourist in Leeds?
My aim is to create images that provide a realistic representation of how Leeds is perceived to a newcomer.
